This book is definitely the best review book I've used for any of the eleven AP exams I've taken. It does a great job of presenting the key details of European History in a very clear and concise matter and it avoids the all too common mistake of turning a review book into a second textbook.
Everything in this book is outlined instead of thrown into paragraphs, which makes reading and comprehension a lot faster. Furthermore, the book leaves out non-essential details of European History. When dates or events aren't necessary, they aren't provided. The book is based on a close study of all released multiple choice questions from the AP exam so that it can cover each topic with the right amount of depth. This means that the book can be in large print on small pages and still be thinner than any other AP prep book I've seen, all without losing its usefulness.
Another key benefit of this book is that the content is really readable. It doesn't contain jokes or anything like that, but the prose is very conversational and easy to read. With most books I find myself reading some sentences multiple times to really understand them, but I never had to do that with this book. I was able to quickly read each page and understand the material on the first try.
This book also does a great job presenting relevant resources beyond a play-by-play account of the history. It includes little tips that explain which aspects of an event to study or warn that a particular event shows up on the exam more than others. In addition, it provides a really helpful list of key terms and several important comparisons of figures and eras that commonly appear on the exam.
